Q.  Is The Blue Bird's Nest on the same property as the cabins?

      A.  No, it is approximately 3/4 mile further up the road at the end of a cul-de-sac

Q.  Do you allow pets at the Bird's Nest?

      A.  No, not at this time

Q.  Is there a grocery store in town?

      A.  Yes, Lynn's Dakotamart - located 800 Mt. Rushmore Road, Custer, SD 57730

Q.  How far is Mount Rushmore?

     A.  22 mile

Q.  How far is Crazy Horse?

     A.  4.3 miles
Q.  How far is Custer State Park?

     A.  7.7 miles

Q.  How far is Jewell Cave?

     A.  11 miles

Q.  Are you pet friendly?

    A.  Yes, 2 dogs max with $100 (6 % tax included in pet fee).  Must be on leash at all times - kenneled while out of the cabin

Q.  Do you have room to park trailers for ATV's, motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc.  

    A.  Yes, we have lots of room for trailers.

Q.  Do you accommodate large groups/reunions/parties?

    A.  Yes, please contact us with your needs and let us see what we can arrange.

Q.  Your website says 2 night minimum, but there is only 1 day available.  Will you rent a cabin for 1 night?

    A.  Yes, we do require 2 nights, but if all we have is 1 night available, we will over ride the system for a single night  

           stay.  Please call us directly.

Q. Do you do monthly rentals?

     A.  Yes, in the off season  October - thru April - We have provided housing to contract workers doing seasonal work 

           in the area that desire something other than a bed and bathroom.  Having a kitchen always saves on expenses.  Call for details.

Q.  Do you have laundry facilities on site. 

      A.  At this time we do not.  The Lost Sock is only 3 miles away and is very quick and affordable.

Q.  Do you have air conditioning?

       A.  No - we don't normally find that it is necessary.  We do provide portable fans in each cabin for those that need 

             some air movement in the cabins.

Q.  How do we check in?

A.  We have a keyless entry system and will email you the code as soon as your cabin is ready.  There is always a possibility it could be available sooner than 3 p.m.  Please watch your emails.  We also send out an email 2 days prior checking to see when you think you will be arriving.  That way we can prioritize cabin cleaning for those that might be in the area prior to 3 p.m.
